How To Train Your Dragon 2

How To Train Your Dragon 2 Review

The Movie
First of all I would like to this time to calmly state that I thought this movie was FREAKING AWESOME!!!! I am big fan of animated features and for the past few years Dreamworks films have been doing a great job with their particular features. This movie is the sequel to the 2010 movie of the same name. The movie is set 5 years later and sees everyone in Berk living happily with their dragons. I won't go into to many details since I don't want to spoil the movie for anyone. This film is beautiful I have to give the artists major props as there are a lot of dragons in this film and they are all unique. I think some of the dragons from Fairy Tail are in the movie. The flying sequences are amazing to look at and brings me to the obvious point that much like the first film this movie should be seen in 3D. It is the best way to see the action in this movie and believe me there is a lot of action to be seen here. One of the things that I found charming about the movie was the amount of things that were happening in the background. There would be conversations or even fights going on and something in the background would be going on that was just as funny or amazing. The story this time around is compelling and deals with bravery, courage, and sacrifice. The score for the movie is awesome as well and I thought matched the tone of the film perfectly.
There are a few new characters in this movie and you have seen them in the trailer so its not a spoiler. Cate Blanchett voices Hiccup's mother Valka and she does a great job in the role. Djimon Honsou is Drago and I don't know about you but everytime he plays a villain he's flippin' scary. Kit Harrington is the last newcomer and he plays a character called Eret. Honestly, his character to me was the weakest. I just think that if you take that character out it doesn't effect the story.

For Parents
This movie is PG and there are a few action sequences in it. If they watched the first one though it shouldn't be a problem as it is the same type of movie. No jump scares or anything like that and don't you worry you won't be bored in it as the movie is paced very well.

The Verdict
This movie is going to get a FULL PRICE from me. Also this movie needs to be seen in 3D, it is the best way to watch the movie in my humble opinion. I am more than likely going to see this again as I want to check out the IMAX version.
