The Game
Boy is this going to be interesting. So I played Mighty No. 9 before I got sick and that's why I am just now doing this post for the game. As you may well know this game has had its fair share of criticisms and I can understand those as a matter of fact I actually agree with some of them. Its fair to say that this game is an homage to the Mega Man games of the late 80's and 90's with a lot of familiarity, gameplay wise. In my opinion, the gameplay of this game is on point. Looking at it from a gameplay standpoint that is the best part of the game. As a matter of fact its probably one of the few bright spots in the experience. The problem with this game is the presentation. To be honest the game just looks bad. The character designs look like bad Astro Boy ripoffs. The level design, while not bad, doesn't help with all the blocky design choices for some of the background details like cars and other vehicles. The human characters also look bad in my opinion, as far as the enemies look I thought they were done alright. The dialogue for the story is another thing that is god awful. Some things probably shouldn't be spoken, some of the lines in this game bring that point home. There's campy, there's cheesy, and then there's "not even close to funny or clever". Sadly, to me, a lot of the dialogue just doesn't even come close to funny or clever. Now don't get me wrong I'm not expecting Oscar worthy performances here but I am also expecting to not roll my eyes at every cut scene. I will give the game this, the enemies are varied so the game doesn't feel to repetitive and in that way the game kind of feels like a Mega Man X series type game. Here's the part where people are probably going to disagree with me. This game is $19.99 I think some people were expecting $60 graphics on a $20 game. Yes, this game was crowdfunded and I agree the presentation needs to be way better than what was delivered. However, I feel that gameplay wise it has those callbacks to the Mega Man series. I think that if Inafune would have went with a more cel-shaded design, presentation wise at least, people would have been more receptive rather than just pissed off and angry. I honestly, think the team got to far ahead of themselves with all that they wanted to do and that's why this game turned out the way that it did. I don't personally hate it like some gamers do but I do understand where they are coming from in regards to their criticism and disappointment.

GamePlay/Soundtrack
Not much to say here that I haven't said before. The dialogue is horrible and I can't blame the voice actors as I feel they did the best they could with what they had. Gameplay is where the title is great in my opinion as it does a good job giving the gamer a feeling of nostalgia. Musically, I don't really have an opinion. I found most of the tracks to be okay but not memorable by any stretch of the imagination. At least at the point I am at in the game I haven't found anything memorable.

Overall Thoughts
If I had to give this a rating I would say GAMEFLY IT. If you are a Mega Man fan you may like it, you may not but I thinking renting this one is probably the way to go for now. It really is a shame as this game has potential but the presentation is what kills it.
