Comic Recommendations - The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Legendary Edition

Available on Amazon.com and major bookstores

The Collection
This book is a collection of the Ocarina of Time manga by Akira Himekawa. Everything is collected into one big graphical novel. The collection also includes the side stories as well. As a Legend of Zelda fan you had to know I was getting this right? It has been awhile since the original mangas were released and it being the 30th anniversary of the series it works for me. For those that missed out the first time this is not a bad collection. The first chapter is in color (except for the last two pages of it) and the artwork is very well done. It reminds me a lot of Kosuke Fujishima's artwork from the game. If you have the original manual or Hyrule Historia he did the artwork for Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. The story itself is a very good adaptation of the game. Its broken up into two stories; one for Child Link and one for Adult Link. All of the chapters do a great job of adapting key moments from the game and building a story around those points. There is humor, action, adventure, and some very good writing in this collection. Actually one of my favorite chapters of the book deals with Volvagia and the Gorons. It is a very good and completely jacked up story with an ending that I wish could have been in the game. They do a good job of showing how evil Ganondorf is without making him a "mustache twirling villain". I have to give it to the authors they did a fantastic job of rounding out the story and making the world feel alive. As a matter of fact if Nintendo ever did an anime on the Legend of Zelda I think they can get a good 13 - 20 episodes out of this collection. At least that's how good I believe it to be. It is also important to note that Akira Himekawa is responsible for all of the Zelda manga even the Twilight Princess one that is out in Japan now. Here's hoping that that book will come statesside as my Japanese is currently nonexistant.

If you have a chance check it out. The book is available on Amazon and all major book outlets. They seem to be doing this for a lot of them as there is one also planned for Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons and is due out on January 10, 2017. Let me know in the comments if you are planning on picking this up. Have you read it? Let me know what you think. Thanks for reading.
