Finally got a trailer for The Defenders

Marvel and NetFlix finally decided to release the first full trailer for their team-up series The Defenders earlier this week. If you don't know or have been following the Marvel/NetFlix series of heroes, here's the short version. The Defenders will bring together Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist in order to defend New York from a threat. Much like Marvel has done cinematically with the Avengers the NetFlix shows have followed the same formula of introducing each of the characters in their own series before bringing them together for this summer's miniseries.

The trailer does a great job of setting up how the characters all meet up. Outside of Jessica and Luke the other characters have not met each other yet and it was cool to see Matt meet Jessica and Danny meet Luke. The Luke and Danny interaction in the trailer is awesome to see as most comic book fans know that the two are known for Heroes for Hire. Here's hoping that Marvel decides to do something with that in the future. There are a couple of slick voiceovers in the trailer, one done by Scott Glenn aka Stick and the other by Sigourney Weaver who plays the villain for the series Alexandra. I am very interested in seeing how this plays out as throughout Daredevil and Iron Fist the enemy has been the Hand. I have my own theories about who Alexandra can be in terms of Marvel baddies but I will save those for a later post. I will say that I liked how the action looked in the trailer. There are many people who had an issue with Iron Fist and I had my issues as well, however, I think that this series may put Danny in a better light (at least I hope so). My favorite part of the trailer is what fans of each of these series like and that's the customary hallway fight. One of the last shots of the trailer is all four of the heroes in a hallway taking out henchmen left and right. I like that the showrunners for Daredevil are running this series as I think they have done the best job out of all the shows when it comes to action sequences.

I can't lie this trailer has me hyped. To me, there are a lot of things to like and I am interested in seeing what they have in store in the coming months. The series will release on NetFlix on August 18, 2017, and will be eight episodes. Have you seen the trailer? What did you think of it? Will you be tuning in on August 18th? Let me know in the comments and as always thanks for reading.
