Mr. Peabody & Sherman Review

The Movie
So I went to see this movie when I was on vacation and I have to say I had a good time in the theater. For those that don't know, Mr. Peabody and Sherman was an animated short on the Rocky & Bullwinkle show. Mr. Peabody, a super intelligent dog with a bowtie and glasses and a not so intelligent Sherman, would have adventures through time for the sake of comedic enjoyment. The way that this was achieved was with the WayBack a.k.a a time machine. I was a fan of Rocky & Bullwinkle when I was younger and this short was always good. For the movie they changed the dynamic a bit to make the story more family oriented. For instance, Mr. Peabody is still a super intelligent dog with a bowtie but this time Sherman is his foster son. The movie even starts with them in the French Revolution which is pretty cool. This is one of the things I like about the movie. When they go back in time the humor is on point. The voice acting as well is top not…

300 Rise of an Empire Review

The Movie

So I finally watched 300 and I must say I don't see what all the hate was for, like the first movie this was based off of a graphic novel by Frank Miller. A lot of people were like this isn't historically accurate. You're right its not supposed to be, its based off of a graphic novel. I like to think of the movies under the category of historical fiction. With that in mind the movie follows the prequel/sequel format, which I dislike. The movie's story takes place before, during, and after the original 300 movie from 2007. The movie follows another Greek hero named Themistocles played by Sullivan Stapleton and his battle with the Persian general Artemesia played by Eva Green. Now in history this battle takes place after the 300 died at Thermopylae on the sea at the Straights of Salamis. Its important to note that Sparta was not involved in this fight according to history but for the purposes of the movie and graphical novel you have …

First Impressions - Tales of Symphonia Chronicles

Tales of Symphonia Chronicles - Sony PS3

First Impression
One of my favorite JRPGs of all time has finally gotten a remake. Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, they both are collected on one disk and both get the HD treatment. Well in all actuality is just an upscaling, which isn't all that bad.  Just remember that Tales of Symphonia did come out originally in 2004 and this is pretty much the same game. They did make a few changes that I like; one being that they added the original opening to the game. Tales of games take an anime approach to story telling and most of their cutscenes are anime inspired. In the original game many of the anime cutscenes were left out of the finished game. I have already seen one that was put back in to the game. Also the full move list for all the characters plus their Mystic Artes (Hi-Ougi's) are supposedly back in this game. For the Tales fans, if you have a save file from Tales of Graces F and Tales of Xillia there…

Bayonetta: Bloody Fate

Bayonetta: Bloody Fate

The Movie
The movie is an animated feature film that is based off of the 2009 game Bayonetta. The game was created by Platinum Games and is a stylish action game. Now the game follows the conflict between the Umbra witches and the Lumen Sages. This movie is basically a more streamlined version of the game and I have to give it to Gonzo, they did an excellent job on the animation. They show the majority of her moveset from the game and I have to say you may not understand this movie if you have not played the game. This film is a love letter to fans of the game and it shows. The action is very over the top, just like the game and I am glad that it was done that way. As for the characters all of your favorites show up at some point. Some of the locales in the game are present in the film like Rodin's bar for example.  I have to say that if you have played the game then you know that when Bayonetta does any of her special moves she gets in some sexualized poses a…
