Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

The Movie
I have to say this movie was a lot of fun. I have to give it to Marvel Studios they are doing a very good job in their cinematic universe. For those of you that may not know this, The Winter Soldier is one of the best Captain America stories written. This movie does a good job of taking some of that story and mixing it with what we know from the first Capt film. I don't want to go into to much detail but the story revolves around Steve Rogers trying to adapt himself to the modern era. He soon becomes wrapped up in a plot involving Hydra and their top assassin the Winter Soldier. If you watch Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D this past Tuesday's episode actually gives a background to the first mission of the movie. If you have not had a chance to watch that episode I would encourage you to watch. As far as the movie is concerned it is well paced. There is action and I know some people were worried that it would be to much action judging by the trailers. I thought that it was just the right amount. The writer's did a good job of getting to know Cap a little better and seeing his struggles in the movie as he tries to find the truth. Shield is heavily involved in this movie which means Sam Jackson, Cobie Smulders, and Scarlett Johannsen all reprise their roles as Nick Fury, Maria Hill, and Black Widow respectively. The newcomers to the cast also did a great job. Frank Grillo plays Crossbones a well known Capt villain. Anthony Mackie plays Sam Wilson a.k.a Falcon, who in the comics is one of Capt's closest friends. Robert Redford plays Alexander Pierce another major character from the comics. The soundtrack is good as well. I can't really find anything that I didn't like in the movie. Oh before I forget the stinger at the end of this movie will be relevant in regards to the next Avengers movie. I would advise hanging around to check it out.

For Parents
The movie is rated PG-13. It does have scenes of action and violence. There is a little bit of language but if you allow your kids to watch any of the other Marvel movies this one should not be a problem either.

This movie gets a FULL PRICE. Very good movie from beginning to end. If you live near a theatre that has D-Box, watch it in there. Trust me its worth it.
