Hercules Movie Review

The Movie
FINALLY! THE ROCK HAS COME BACK......TO THRACE!!!!!!! Sorry people but you know I had to do it, I couldn't help myself. This is one of the movies that I had been looking forward to this summer and I have to say, I was pleasantly entertained. This movie is actually based off of a graphical novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars. I have to admit I have not read the graphical novel as I did not know of its existence before this movie. The movie itself has a good mix of humor, action, and tragedy. I am not the biggest fan of Brett Ratner but I have to say the direction in the movie was not bad at all. As for the story, I thought it was good. It is one of those stories that make you think and question a little what you just saw. I don't want to get in to specifics as it will spoil the movie, but in that respect I think the movie got it right. As for the supporting cast they did a really good job, especially Ian McShane's character he was hilarious in the movie. The …

Diversity in Comics, My 55 cents on Marvel's new announcements

What's up peeps. I just wanted to take a little time this afternoon to give my thoughts on this week's big announcements regarding a couple of Marvel's franchises. I have been reading some comments and giving it some thought and in all honesty I don't think that it's as bad as some people want to make it out to be. Now before you get mad at me and unfollow me, just hear me out. While I do not like changing up a character with a known background just to appease a certain percentage of the populace, I can forgive it if it is done within the realm of the story. Saying that let's first start with Thor.

As most of you in the know with comics have heard that later this year Thor will become unworthy of Mjolnir and a woman will become worthy of his hammer and be granted the power of Thor. First let me say this, THOR THE CHARACTER IS NOT TURNING INTO A WOMAN! Sorry for that but you have no idea how many comments I have read in the past couple of days that have just …

The Game
Well a new One Piece game has finally made out to the West. As a fan of the manga/anime series as well as the game series I am glad to we were able to get this title. The game is an action adventure game in the same vein as something like Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm. All of your favorite characters from the series are represented or at least show up in the game. The game mixes some light RPG elements in to keep things interesting, just like in the Ninja Storm series. I should also let fans of the series know that the character's that this game revolve around were created by Eiichiro Oda himself. Also the game is in full Japanese with English subtitles there is no option for English dub that I saw, then again I actually prefer the Japanese voices.

This is where people may get a little upset as the trailers that they show don't make it look the best. However, I found that in gam…

Comic Pick Ups

What's up peeps. It's been awhile since I have talked about comics in any meaningful way. Don't worry I still have my collection in tact and going strong. I just thought I would take a little time to talk about three comics that piqued my interest today in the comic book store.

Rat Queens
This one was recommended by my good buddy Stephanie. She knows I like fantasy type fiction from time to time and suggested I take a look at this quirky little title. I picked up the graphic novel and I have to say I like this book. Its from Image comics Shadowline and volume 1 collects issues 1- 5, titled Sass and Sorcery it has a lot of both in the book. The story follows Betty, Dee, Violet, and Hannah and their adventures busting heads, getting high, drunk, and having a generally awesome time. As you may have guessed this comic isn't for the little ones as their is a lot of language and violence. Most of which is funny as it plays a lot like a dark comedy RPG (that's Role Playing …
