First Impressions - Final Fantasy 15 Episode Duscae

Available on the Final Fantasy Type-0 game which is available on both the XBOne and Playstation 4

The Demo
I have to give it to Square Enix they know how to put together a demo. I was thoroughly impressed with what they presented. Now this is the game I was looking forward to way back when it was first introduced. The demo is available on the Final Fantasy Type 0 HD game. I am not going to lie that is one of the, okay the main reason, I purchased that game. That being said for a demo its not bad, it does have issues but the amount of fun I had and continue to have is great.

The Graphics
The first thing you notice is the graphics. It looks great even for a demo, so I am really looking forward to the finished product. The screens that I have attached in this post are from the game. There is also a part in the game where there is a fog over the field where you are. Its fun because the fog gets thicker and you still have to fight some enemies but because of the fog it makes the fight kind of intense. The night time effects are also pretty good. There were a couple of really weird things that happened in my playthrough of the game where an enemy I just killed didn't disappear but kept shaking and vibrating on the ground. It was actually pretty funny. The other thing was the odd way in which your companions would run into you or just be in the way and not allow you to move forward. It wasn't often but it did happen and I expect that this will be fixed before the game is released.

The Combat
This game is an action RPG, much in the same vein of the Kingdom Hearts series of games in that there were both being worked on by Tetsuya Nomura. Fans of that series will find this game easier to pick up in my opinion. You control Noctis and this is the character that uses a lot of different weapons in his moveset (he's the guy that looks like Sasuke from Naruto). Of course for the purposes of the demo you only have access to a select amount of moves and these moves work well. One of my favorite moves of his is the Warp Strike, as I like to hit fast and do combos in my action role playing games. He has a guard button but when you press it he dodges, there is a sparring mode where you can get acquainted with the control scheme I suggest utilizing it until you feel comfortable. The only problem that I had with the combat was the Parrying, maybe my timing was off but I could rarely get it to work and there were times where I was surrounded by enemies and I had three Parrying reticles up and there was no way I was going to be able to do them all at the same time. Once again just something I hope is fixed when the final game is released.

All in all its a great time and hopefully there is a release date given soon. Based off of the demo I will be pre ordering this one as soon as I can. If you have had a chance to play the demo what are your thoughts on it. Please leave a comment and let me know.
