So you want Voice Chat

This one is for my Nintendo fans. I have been seeing, hearing, and reading a lot of differing opinions on the subject of voice chat for Nintendo. Most of the discussions have to do with the upcoming title Splatoon for the Wii U. Now I am not here to tell you whether you should or should not purchase this game. I am not going to call you out of your name because your thought process is different than mine but what I am going to do is offer a suggestion for those that want it added to this upcoming title. First let me deal with this little misconception that the Wii U cannot deal with voice chat. That is inaccurate. The U can indeed handle voice chat, what Nintendo has done is left it up to the developer if they wish to implement that feature or not. How do I know? Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate utilizes voice chat (very well I might add) in its online mode. I have gone on many hunts with various members of the Gamers @ Large as well as other friends that I have.

You see people Nintendo has…

Film Review

Batman vs Robin

The Movie
The newest DC animated feature is a rather interesting one, in my opinion. Batman vs Robin plays like a sequel to Son of Batman and picks up some time after that film. The art, music, and overall tone is the same as that film. I don't want to give to much away but this feature introduces one of my favorite Batman stories from the New 52 and that is the Court of Owls. I like the way that they are introduced into the story and how the plot is taken from that story arc. Once again the voice acting is superb, while I am admittedly a Kevin Conroy fanboy (he will always be my favorite Batman just like Mark Hamill will always be my favorite Joker) Jason O'Mara does a very good job as well as the entire cast. The art style is the same as Son of Batman so if you have an issue with that I don't really know what to say, personally I think that it looks great. The action sequences are really good in this movie and for the most part add tension to the dramatic …

Marvel's Daredevil

6 Episodes In

So this is how Marvel does gritty. As a comic book fan I wholeheartedly approve. One of the things that I was worried about going in to this was will this series be so serious that it would take away from the usual Marvel proceedings. Charlie Cox does a very good job as Matt Murdoch. The story that they have crafted is actually pretty solid and still retains that Marvel Cinematic charm that most people love. If this is what I have to look forward to from Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist then sign me up because I will be keeping NetFlix for a while. Also they went and got some great actors for this series that I didn't know were even in this show. Some great acting all around as well as some great writing. The banter between the characters is awesome and makes for some very entertaining scenes. Even the banter between some the villains is pretty good.  I will be the first to admit that I don't know much about the Daredevil comic as he was never one of my fa…

Film Review - Furious 7

The Movie
Well I just got out of Furious 7. The seventh film in the underground racing franchise that at this point in the series centers on Dom Torretto and his "family" of street racers. In this film he and his family are being hunted by Deckard Shaw, the brother of Owen Shaw the villain in the last movie. The movie plays like an homage to the entire series. This is the movie that Paul Walker did not get to finish as he passed away during filming. There is a really beautiful send off at the end of the movie for him that I thought was really well done. Now that I got that out of the way, what about the movie. Seeing as there are seven of these movies you should know what you are getting in to by now. This movie has plenty of car chases, hot women, car racing, and fight scenes. There are three standout fight scenes in this movie to me. The first one is the Rock vs. Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw and yes the Rock does the Rock Bottom. The second fight that I enjoyed was Ton…

Nintendo Direct Recap

Highlights from the Direct
So yesterday Nintendo had a Direct that focused on Wii U with some 3DS games as well. The entire direct was forty-eight minutes in length. Overall I thought that it was okay, we got some release dates on some titles as well as some launch windows for others. Here are some of my personal highlights from the direct, let me know what were some of your favorite announcements from the direct.

Super Smash Bros 3DS/U
The direct started off a video of Mewtwo as well as the release date for when he will be available. For those who bought both the 3DS and Wii U versions he will be available for download on April 15th. For those that didn't buy both versions he will be available for purchase on the 28th. There was also a video showcasing another downloadable character Lucas. There is also a survey on the  Smash Bros webpage where you can let Nintendo know which character you would like to see as the next DLC character release.  Amiibo waves 4 and 5 also got some att…
