What's on my Radar 2017 Pt. 2

2017 Games - Nintendo Edition

Just like with my Sony entry I want to focus on the games that have piqued my interest for the first half of 2017. That being said these are just the games that I will be purchasing at launch or planning on purchasing at some point later. So let's see what I am pumped about on the Nintendo side of things.  Also, it should go without saying but all of the games are for the Switch. I really shouldn't have to spell it out but better to be safe than sorry.

The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
As a huge Zelda fan, I am looking forward to this latest entry in the series. This looks to be the biggest Zelda game to date and judging by the latest trailer will finally have voice acting. There are plenty of videos from the Treehouse on Nintendo's YouTube channel if you wish to see the game in action. This game will release with the Switch on March 3, 2017, and will more than likely be the only game I will be playing when it releases.

This game caught my eye and filled me with memories of Ready 2 Rumble Boxing. The game has that signature Nintendo craziness that I love. Fans of Wii Sports Boxing are more than likely going to love this as it mimics that game but with a cast of colorful characters. This game doesn't have a concrete release date at the moment but does have the window of Spring 2017. Check out the trailer below.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Normally I wouldn't be all that impressed with this game as it is just an updated Mario Kart 8. Then Nintendo had to add Inkling Boy and Inkling Girl to the party. Then they added King Boo as well. And then they added a true Battle Mode and before I knew it I had added the game to the list. Damn you Nintendo and your nostalgia. In all seriousness, it will be fun taking this with me in portable mode. I am glad that they brought back Battle Mode as that was one of my issues with the original title. This game is set for release on April 28, 2017.

Has Been Heroes
Okay, this game just looks fun to me. After watching the Treehouse Live event where they discussed this game it looks like there will be a fair amount of strategy mixed into the gameplay. I really recommend anyone interested in this title to watch the Treehouse playthrough of this title it looks hella fun. This game does not have a concrete release date but according to the Nintendo website, this title will release in March 2017.

I Am Setsuna
Yes, I will be double dipping this game and I am not ashamed of that one bit. I am a huge fan of JRPGs and this game has all the classic elements I like. It's challenging without being frustrating and it has a charm all its own. There will be a Colosseum Mode that will be made available as future DLC but that is probably the only real difference from the PS4 version of the game. I would still recommend that any fan of old school JRPGs give this game a go as I think you will enjoy it immensely. According to the Nintendo website, this game will release in  March 2017.

That does it for my list. Will you be picking up the Switch? What games do you plan on getting for the system in the first half of 2017? Let me know in the comments and thanks for reading.
