Thoughts on San Diego Comic Con 2017

One of these days I am going to find a way to get to San Diego Comic Con. This year there were a lot of great panels and trailer releases. I want to share my favorites with you and what I am looking forward to in the future as far as TV and Movies are concerned. With that being said let's get started shall we.

The Defenders
We got the second trailer and it was awesome. We got to hear more of Sigourney Weaver's Alexandra and Scott Glenn's Stick speaking about the Battle for New York. There were some nice action shots in the trailer as well. If you have followed any of the individual shows it looks like fans will be in for an awesome show. In case you missed it, check out the trailer below.

Stranger Things Season 2
You know you have something special when you hear Michael Jackson's Thriller playing over the trailer. I loved the first season of Stranger Things, as an 80's baby I understood a lot of the references and loved the characters. Season 2 seems to be amping th…

First Impressions - Implosion Never Lose Hope

Available on Steam and Nintendo Switch

The Game
The story for this game revolves around a group of humans who left the earth during an invasion and have come back years later to save the remanents of humanity and exterminate the alien species responsible for the destruction. Outside of the very cool looking opening the game's cutscenes are done in a storybook type style with voice overs of still images.  In all honesty, the story is okay it won't win a Pulitzer but it is okay for what this game is at its core. This game graphically is okay and the enemy variety is decent which I found to be a big surprise seeing as how this game is essentially a hack n slash game set in a sci-fi setting.

Combat/Game Play
The game is pretty linear and it is understandable since the game is an action title. As I have stated earlier, this game is a hack n slash game but it also has a few RPG elements thrown in for good measure. Your basic attacks are with your blade and you can chain together light…

Splatoon 2 SplatFest Thoughts

Available on Nintendo Switch

Cake vs. Ice Cream
I actually forgot how much fun a SplatFest could be. It had been awhile since there has been a SplatFest and in all honesty, I haven't played the first Splatoon in months but seeing as how Splatoon 2 is releasing soon I thought I would go ahead and join the SplatFest World Premiere. I chose Team Ice Cream honestly because I like Marina a little more than I do Pearl (sorry Pearl fans). During my playthrough, there were a lot of Ice Cream inklings. As a matter of fact, a lot of my matches weren't even against Team Cake. That being said it was still a lot of fun. Although I wish I was able to get together with my friends and squad up like that one game it was still fun as I had decent teams that I was a part of and was able to wreck shop.

A Few Problems
As much as I enjoyed myself I did notice a few issues with the game itself. For some reason, I kept getting out of the lobby after matches. I thought it may have been my connection but…

TV Review - Castlevania Season 1

Synopsis (From IMDB):  A vampire hunter fights to save a besieged city from an army of otherworldly creatures controlled by Dracula.

Can't lie that was a fun little season. It's not without its faults but the potential is there for something great. Now while this is animated it is NOT for children. If you remember the old Spawn animated series on HBO, then you kind of understand what they were going for. This particular story revolves around Trevor Belmont which in all honesty isn't bad and is joined in the season by Sypha and Alucard. The voice acting is pretty good, some of the characters have accents and maintain them throughout the season and it works to make the story feel like it is in an Eastern European village in the 15th Century. There is some humor in the season most of it coming from Trevor as a lot of the stuff he does in the beginning episodes is kind of douchey, to say the least. The action is very fluid and can be clearly seen, I liked the animation especia…

Film Review - Spider-Man Homecoming (so this is what it looks like when Marvel gets one of their properties back)

Synopsis (From IMDB): Several months after the events of Captain America: Civil War, Peter Parker, with the help of his mentor Tony Stark, tries to balance his life as an ordinary high school student in Queens, New York City while fighting crime as his superhero alter ego Spider-Man as a new threat, the Vulture, emerges.

So this is what it looks like when Marvel gets one of their properties back. So looking forward to the day Fox no longer has the X-Men. That being said, this is by far the best Spider-Man movie to date and while there were some changes to the comic book lore it still felt like a true Spidey movie. There is a lot to like here. The cast is awesome and did an excellent job. The high school students actually looked like high schoolers and not thirty-year-old high school students, which I know a lot of us are tired of seeing. If you are worried about Robert Downey Jr. taking over the movie, don't be, he isn't in it that much and to me, that's a good thing. He&#…
