Season Review - Voltron Season 4

Available on NetFlix

Basically, this season is part 2 of season 3. It picks up right after the origin episode. If you have been watching the series so far then you know what to expect. The animation is great and for the most part, the story is tight. I like some of the decisions that were made with the story as it made for some great story beats in my opinion. One of the things that I liked about this season was the return of Emperor Zarkon. Not gonna lie I like how they use him and how undeniably evil he truly is, you don't really want to mess with Zarkon. With the season only being six episodes its a pretty fast viewing and that could possibly lead to a few issues down the road. With that being said there are some things that I didn't like with this season. I didn't like what they did with Keith. Keith has always been my favorite paladin, even going back to the original show. The way he acted this season, in my opinion, was a little counterproductive to what they did in season 3. Prince Lotor's plan didn't make any sense, I don't want to say what it is because I don't want to spoil it but unless they plan on going into it in season 5 I don't get why he's doing the things that he did. Also, there was an episode that focused on Coran that really felt like a throwaway episode. It just didn't fit with what was going on and it threw off the pacing for me. Lastly, the season didn't feel like a season it felt more like a continuation of season 3. I will say this though the cliffhanger was pretty good and did a great job of making me look forward to what comes next.

For Parents
It's Voltron you should know what to expect by now.

Final Thoughts
Still liking the overall story but the season not actually feeling like a season kind of brought it down for me a bit. I still give this a 4 out of 5 stars, as it is one of the best cartoons out today. I am looking forward to season 5 and how they address this season's cliffhanger. Have you seen this season? What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments and as always thanks for reading.
