Gift Ideas Gaming Edition

It's that time of year again and for those of you wanting some gift ideas for your favorite gamer, here are a few of the games that I have played and think will make great gifts. As always if you can't think of anything to get gift cards are always welcome or eShop, PlayStation Store, or Xbox Store cards. Now without further ado.

Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
Available on the Wii U and Nintendo Switch

This game while being a great addition for fans of the series it is also a great jumping on point as well. Hyrule has never looked like this before and there is a lot to do in the game that keeps gamers busy for hours. Personally, I have put over 250 hours into this game and I still love adventuring through Hyrule. There are plenty of secrets to find and side quests as well. There is a reason why this game won Game of The Year across multiple gaming sites.

Available on Nintendo Switch

If you're looking for something a little different in the fighting genre, you don't get much different than ARMS. Picture Ready 2 Rumble Boxing but all the characters have stretch Armstrong arms. The game is actually pretty fun and like Splatoon has free updates that add characters and stages. They also have events much like the splatfests. Each character is unique and has a special ability that can come in handy during a match. There are multiple modes and the online is pretty fun. Also, there are plenty of different control options you just have to find out what works for you.

Super Mario Odyssey
Available on Nintendo Switch

Can't mention Nintendo without Mario and this may be the best Mario game in years. Odyssey is weird, at times makes no sense, and is a crazy amount of fun. The game opens after you beat it so the replay value is great as well as the number of secrets to find in the game. The game also has a lot of secrets and throwbacks to previous games in the series. I would recommend this game for every Switch owners library.

Destiny 2
Available on PC, XBONE, & PS4

If you are into MMO type games, first-person shooters, and are a general fan of Bungie than you'll like this game. Unlike the first game, this game has a campaign mode and it's actually pretty good. The story makes sense and serves as a great way to introduce gamers to the world of Destiny. If you played the first game, this game fixes a lot of the issues with that game. There's a lot to do and the game is plenty of fun especially when you are playing with friends.

Nier Automata
Available on PS4

This game came out earlier this year and it was made by Platinum Studios. It is an action game that is a lot of fun to play. The story isn't half bad either but the action is really what you are here for in all honesty. Platinum has made a name for themselves in the action genre and this game is no exception. Visually, it is beautiful from character design to environments, they are all done well and boss fights are epic. If you are an action fan and own a PS4 this is a good game for the library.

Well, that does it for my gift ideas. I wanted to make sure I talked about games I have played I have some more that I would love to talk about but I haven't had a chance to play them yet. If you want to know about games that I have not finished yet but think are good to recommend leave a comment and I will let you know. As always thanks for reading and have a happy holiday.
