First Impressions - Super Daryl Deluxe

Available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam

Initial Thoughts
There's one thing that you will notice from the outset of this game and that is its visuals. The artwork is awesome, in my opinion, and has a look that reminds me of Napoleon Dynamite. The story itself is comedic in tone and it works. The game is set up as an action RPG, all moves have specific cooldowns and unique actions. Finding the right set up is important and goes a long way in mastering the game. The enemies in this game are unique and can pose problems if you are ill-prepared. The setting of the game is high school and the developers do a good job of the different cliques in high school. Some of the extended cast is pretty memorable and have some hilarious lines. There is some voice acting in the game and it's pretty good. Overall, I am enjoying the story and artwork as it makes for a unique experience.

Gameplay Thoughts
As I stated above the game is an action RPG. That being said there is a learning curve for the game as it will take a little bit to set up your moves to fit your particular playstyle. The more textbooks you find the more you can power up your moves. You will also find new and more powerful moves via story progression. As far as the combat in the game, it's pretty fast and fluid. Of course, that does depend on how you wish to play. Bosses are appropriately weird and challenging. So far I find them to be fun, even if it does take a couple of tries to get the pattern down. Check out the gameplay video below and let me know what you think of the combat in the comments.

Final Impressions
The game is fun, in my opinion, I think that it's a good value. The controls are tight and the visuals are awesome. The story is pretty good and comedic in tone which is a plus in my opinion. The music is also pretty good, not gonna lie I do like the theme song as I think it fits perfectly with this game. I can't say enough about how well put together this game is, it looks great and just flows well. Have you played the game? What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments and as always thanks for reading.
